  1. Hello Howard. Been a reader for many years, even a LJ friend for months, but never actually said hi. But the San Francisco order for the fancy version is from me.

  2. Aaaarghhhh! Not in time for Penguicon!

(I’m still ordering two “signed and sketched”)

I’m just going to have to catch you next year for additional personalizations.

    1. Aaaarghhhh! Aaaarghhhh!

“Limit one per customer. If you order more than one copy, one will be the sketch edition, and the rest will be autographed”

      Aaaarghhhh!

      🙂

  3. To be more precise, I ordered one of each version. The fancy one I’m keeping for me, the other I’m sending to my brother. Hee.

  4. I live on the wrong continent for this sort of thing. $10 just to get the book here… 🙁 One day when I’m rich I’ll hunt down an autographed copy and pay disgusting sums of money for it.

  5. Autographed Sketch: $10 Helping someone fufill a dream: Priceless

At first I thought, well, I can order a blank one and meet Howard (eventually) at a con to get an autograph and a personalized sketch. Then I realized I’m willing to pay $10 to help someone live their dream. Not many times in my life can I buy something and really see an impact on the company I’m buying it from. Sure, it’s only $10, but I’ve been reading Howard’s live journals for a while. I know his wife can stretch that $10 beyond what most people would even dream. I’m not saying I’m rich and this is philanthropy on my part. I’m sure I could find somewhere else to spend my $10 easily. But spending it on this feels good, and really, it’s for my birthday anyways.
And I’m not saying this is Charity. This is well earned money on Howard’s part. Heck, that $10 also helps to continue more daily schlock. Hopefully everyone will realize that and Howard will hit his 200 order limit tonight.

I’d be suprised if he didn’t do it sooner. I mean really how could someone not spend the extra $10 for something so unique? It would just be silly of them 🙂

I plan one taking my sketch book to Provo some day soon, and have it signed and dated again by Howard, and I’ll have it with at any Con I attend that may have him there, and Have him do the same… Maybe ask for lil sketchs each time… Just a lil schlock or something…

Make it a true treasure… Something that I can auction some day and put my kids through college…

Riiiiiiiiiiight…. Like anyone has enough money to get such a book from me…

Well, maybe Bill Gates, but the man would be eating cup o’ raman for the rest of his life, cause I’d take him to the cleaners…

        *giggles*

        I’m gonna own dead-tree Howard-art…

        *giggles more*

No, hopefully his 200 limit will not be hit tonight, so that I will have time to get home from work and order one.

  6. Yay!

The preorder for a sketch copy to Australia is from me! 🙂 Well done for living your dream.

Of course, I probably should look at the sample pages now, but whatever.

  7. I ordered a sketch edition… hopefully I got to it before they all ran out, but if not consider the extra a donation.

Can’t wait to get my hands on the book.

    1. Of cource it does…

      He’s just a figure-head of a CEO of Taylor Corp…

      She’s the CFO… She’s the real power…

So the business probably mirrors the marriage…

      *runs and hides*

  8. About the “release party”…

Can ya try and make it for a weekend or something, and give several weeks notice? And let it be after the pre-order books arrive?

I wanna bring my sketch copy! I WILL buy a plane ticket, I WILL get a hotel room (speaking of which, is there one near the Dragon’s Keep?), and I WILL shake your hand, sir… I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, some days your comic, your LJ (and often your wife’s LJ) are my only smile… When I saw the posts about your daughter, I was easily more worried than I was when I had teeth extracted…

You’re like some spectacular sort of uncle (several times removed), who comes by from time to time and tells glorious, wonderful stories…

You’re a modern-day bard, only without the silly little guitar, puffy half-pants and tights…

So, like I said… Thank you, and try and get the party to be after my books get here…

At the least a couple of weeks notice… Frankly, I’ll buy a FOURTH book to get a lil doodle on it…

    Hmmmm…

I think I just crossed the line from “devoted” to “insanely rabid”…

Ya know, it’s kinda pretty on this side… JOIN ME!!!!!

    1. Re: About the “release party”…

And ya know Howard, Like Kurtz, you now have your own raving ‘fanboy’

      Jeez.

Oh wait, I am a Schlock Fanboy, Nevermind.

      1. Re: About the “release party”…

I know that there are loony fanboys out there with my name writ glowing across their pounding hearts. It doesn’t creep me out. It gives me a sense of responsibility. SOMEBODY has to nurture these crazed souls back into mainstream society, right?

SOMEBODY has to nurture these crazed souls back into mainstream society, right?

          *chuckles* It’s been tried…

My hearing is in a couple of weeks…

How about you keep making Schlock, and I stay away from mainstream society? I get Schlock, Mainstream Society gets less rabid-fanboy bouncing around quoting The Rules, and random lines from the strips…

          It’s Win-Win…

      1. Heh…

I have a feeling that a LOT of postal carriers will be haring “Is it here yet? Is it here yet? How about now? Now?” for a lil while…
